May 6-7, 2011 Quilter’s Guild of Arlington 2011 Annual Festival of Quilts presents “A Floral Fantasy.” The show will be from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.,Friday & Saturday, May 6 & 7 (Mother’s Day weekend) at the Bob Duncan Community Center in Vandergriff Park, 2800 S. Center Street, Arlington, TX 76014. This will be a judged show of 200 beautiful quilts, a miniature quilt silent auction benefiting the Susan G. June 2 – 5, 2011 There will be a Quilt Academy at Our House In Milford taught by Harriet Hargrave. In four days you will make a 32 x 32 quilt top from Quilter's Academy Vol. 1. This academy will address a number of different techniques and design elements. The project will increase in difficulty so that you will leave with a wide scope of skills and the ability to solve some basic piecing issues you may encounter in your quilting endeavors. This retreat is a great class for beginners but veteran piecers will come away with their skills refreshed and refined. The cost is $438.50 which covers the instruction, food and lodging. August 5 & 6, 2011 Quilt Show "REMEMBRANCE" -The Fort Worth Quilt Guild - at the Fine Arts Academy of Fort Worth located at 3901 S. Hulen, Fort Worth. It is a few blocks north of I20. The time is 10 am – 5 pm both days with admission being $5, children under 12 free. A special feature of the show is the “Ground Zero Quilt” made by Lois Jarvis. She used the Lone Star pattern and pictured the 700 people who perished at the World Trade Center. There will be vendors, a boutique filled with handmade items and a miniature quilt auction. Parking is FREE. Come and join us.
